Deep Tissue Massage
This is a specialty modality of massage, and more of an emphasis on altering structure and muscle restrictions, range of motion issues, and relieving pain that is lodged in the body tissues. This is not to say that the work is not pleasurable. Most clients, once they are accustomed to the benefits of deep tissue work, prefer the increased degree of relaxation, the alleviation of pain, and the longer lasting benefits, and find it quite relaxing and enjoyable. It can include techniques using elbows but does not have to be included, I work with you on your level of comfort, and we move from warming up into deeper work as your comfortable and I do not take a no pain, no gain approach. It is your session and you are in charge of how it will go.

Polarity Therapy
A synthesis of ancient Eastern and alternative medicine health care centered on the concept of a Human Energy Field. Polarity Therapy concepts and methods were developed by Dr. Randolph Stone over the course of more than sixty years of practice and research including extensive worldwide travel. Using touch, verbal interaction, exercise, nutrition and other methods, Practitioners of Polarity Therapy seek to balance and restore the natural flow of energy which flows from the universe and into the body through the meridians (energy channels in the body), chakras (energy vortexes in the body), and endocrine glands. It is a system of therapeutic touch done on a massage table the client can be fully clothed if not paired with massage. It incorporates some pressure points, foot reflexology & light rocking.
Polarity therapists work with "energetic anatomy" and work with energetic patterns (similar to acupuncture meridians (Chinese Medicine) and Marma Points (Ayurvedic pressure points) The Caduseus which is representative of the ida and pingala (or central spinal cord energetic anatomy in Yoga and Ayurvedic Medicine) is another system that is benefited during polarity treatments.
A primary focus is on re-establishing balance in the central nervous system, and the majority of time is spent focusing on creating a parasympathetic balance. This deep nervous system balancing and unblocking allows a release of stress and permits the body to relax and heal itself naturally. The result is increased energy and vitality. In addition to polarity bodywork, specific polarity yoga exercises, positive thinking, and nutritional recommendations are used to enhance vitality. Practitioners of PT work with a subtle, energetic system that is the substrate for all phenomena. If the energetic flow is corrected and restored to its original design, the form will follow. Blockages in the flow of energy lead to pain and disease, or can be experienced as stuck emotions and lack of vitality.
What to expect in a Polarity Therapy Session:
A session can be done fully clothed (if not also being paired with a Massage session) you can expect some foot reflexology especially on the feet, light rocking, some pressure points (energy centers) will be stimulated, and gentle connection of energetic points on the body will be established by the hands being placed on the body between two points, as well as some cranio-sacral work. Also if you are open to receive any other information that comes through for you, as in messages, guidance, impressions, that is also available.

Reiki
The word Reiki originates from two Japanese words, “Rei” which means God’s wisdom or the Higher Power and “Ki” which means life-force energy. Reiki is a method of natural healing that uses energy channeled through a practitioners hands. It is done fully dressed on a massage table or can be done in a bed if someone is immobile. While a practitioners hands rest lightly and gently on a client.
Reiki is not faith healing; no faith in the effectiveness of a Reiki treatment is required on the part of a practitioner or client. Reiki augments the life-force energy that naturally circulates through a person’s body, sustaining health and vitality, with a strong, powerful flow of the same energy that originally sparks and sets the miracle of life into motion. This energy accelerates and enhances all naturally occurring healing processes. Many have reported that it has relaxed tense muscles, speeds digestion, stabilizes blood pressure and blood sugar, calms a racing pulse, stimulates the immune system and relieves pain. It most always creates a beneficial effect
It works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Even when a disease or medical condition has progressed to the point where physical recovery is not possible, Reiki still relieves symptoms, reduces pain, eases emotional distress, and if at the appropriate time, and needed, Reiki assists the whole person in accepting the peace of death.
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person, including the body, emotions, mind, and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation, feelings of peace, security and well-being.
